The mission of DAR Talks

DAR Talks exists to document the war being waged on Sudanese women and girls, and to press the world to act on what has been documented.

We do three things, and we are public about each.

Witness

We gather, verify, protect, and publish the testimony of Sudanese women living through this war. We do this with their consent, to standards that hold up in court. The methodology is published in full at How We Document and is the subject of a separate statement, DT-2025-002.

Record

We maintain a public record of what is happening — who is doing what, where, to whom — sourced to primary documentation. The record will outlast the news cycle. It will outlast this platform. It is built to be useful in five, ten, twenty years. Every factual claim on this site links to a primary source: Amnesty International, Médecins Sans Frontières, the UN Human Rights Office, Human Rights Watch, UN Women, SIHA Network, ACJPS, or the testimony bank we maintain.

Press for accountability

We work with European, US, UK, and UN institutions to translate the documented record into specific decisions — targeted sanctions, ICC referral, humanitarian access, survivor-centred reparations. We do this in coordination with Darfur Women Action Group (DWAG), SIHA Network, and ACJPS.

What we do not do

We do not take sides between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. Both have been credibly accused of war crimes against Sudanese women. Our position is anti-violence-against-women and pro-accountability, applied without favour. This is set out in full in DT-2025-003.

We do not solicit, accept, or pass through funding from any party to the conflict, from any government or political party with a direct stake in the conflict's outcome, or from any organisation under sanctions for human-rights violations.

We do not host a public testimony-submission form. Survivor intake happens off-platform, through trained intake workers, on secure channels.
