DAR Talks

Geography of Atrocities

Sudan's war is geographical. Where you are determines what is being done to you. This page summarises documented incidents of violence against women and girls — by region, with their attributed actors and primary sources visible in Documented Incidents.

DAR Talks does not align with either armed party. Both the SAF and the RSF have been credibly accused of war crimes. Our position is anti-violence-against-women and pro-accountability — applied without favour to either side.

This is not exhaustive. It records only incidents documented by DAR Talks' partners and sources, and only those for which a date and location can be confirmed. Many violations are not yet documented. Many will not be. What appears here is a floor, not a ceiling.

Each region in the map below is shaded by the number of incidents currently in the archive. Survivor identities are never revealed. Locations are precise to the nearest village or neighbourhood only where doing so does not endanger anyone still in the area.
